Statement of Faith

We believe The Bible to be inspired, infallible, and authoritative in all of life. We also believe The Bible should be interpreted literal consistently and therefore reject allegorizing and spiritualizing The Scriptures (Matt. 21:42, Mark 12:24, John 5:39, Acts 17:11, 2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:21).

We believe there is one God eternally existent in three distinct persons, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, Matt. 28:9, John 1:1, 10:30, 1 John 5:7). We reject heretical views of God such as arianism, modalism, gnosticism, tri-theism, etc.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His personal return in power and glory (John 10:33, Isa. 7:14, Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:35, Heb. 4:15, 7:26, John 2:11, 1 Cor. 15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9, John 11:25, 1 Cor. 15:4, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11).

We believe in the present ministry of The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We also believe all the spiritual gifts continue on today for the edification and equipping of the church (1 Cor. 6:19-20, Eph. 5:18, Phil. 1:10, Gal. 5:22-25, 1 Cor. 12-14). We therefore reject cessationism. We also believe there should be a balance with the spiritual gifts, we therefore reject the over emphasis placed on the gifts that neglects the priority of The Word.

We believe the natural man is completely depraved, dead in trespasses and sins, and unable to save himself through good works and merits (Isa. 64:6, Rom. 1:18, 3:9-18, Eph. 2:1-3).

We believe salvation is only by faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross apart from any good works or merits (John 3:16-19, 5:24, Rom. 3:23, 5:8-9, Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5). We reject universalism and the calvinistic belief of predestination. We believe Jesus Christ paid the sins for all mankind and that everyone has a chance to be saved if they will place their faith in Jesus.

We believe in the eternal security of every believer and every believer has the right to their assurance of salvation (John 10:28-29, Rom. 8:38-39, Eph. 1:13, 4:30, Col. 3:3, 1 Pet. 1:5, 1 John 5:13). We reject that a born again believer can lose their salvation, no such belief is taught anywhere in scripture.

We believe in the universal church the body of Christ is made up of all believers and that the local church is the visible manifestation of the universal church. We believe church government should be simple rather than a complex bureaucracy, with the utmost dependence upon the Holy Spirit to lead, rather than on fleshly promotion or worldly wisdom. We believe the church has two ordinances, The Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Water Baptism by full immersion. We reject infant baptism and we also reject that baptism can save, both are unscriptural (Rom. 12:4, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:12-13, Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 11:23-26, Acts 8:36-39, 16:31-33).

We believe when The Bible is interpreted literal consistently, it reveals that God gave different instructions or laws to different groups of people in different periods of time (dispensations). Every dispensation is unique in its own time and does not cross over another, with some slight overlap (Luke 4:16-21, Eph. 1:10, 3:2, Col. 1:25, Heb. 1:1-2).

We believe every believer is commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to preach the gospel to all men (Mark 16:15, Rom. 10:14-15).

We believe in the laying on of hands for the baptism of The Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders, deacons, and receiving gifts of The Spirit (Acts 6:2-6, 1 Tim. 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-9).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:9, 1 Cor. 12:12-13, Gal. 3:26-28).

We believe marriage is between one man and one woman. Sexual intercourse is only to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage and any sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin such as fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, etc. (Gen. 1:27-28, 2:21-24, 4:1-2, 25, Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:26-27, 1 Cor. 6:9).

We believe in the baptism with The Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience to that of regeneration, occurring either subsequent to or simultaneous with salvation, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life, enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness (Acts 1:8, Matt. 3:11, Mark 1:8).

We believe every believer has been made a priest because of Christ. We therefore reject a clergy/laity distinction (1 Pet. 2:5, 9, Rev. 1:6, 20:6).

We believe the soul of man is immortal and after death the soul of man will continue on in either heaven or hell (Matt. 10:28, Luke 16:19-31, 2 Cor. 5:8). We reject the heretical view of soul sleep.

We believe Israel has a future within God’s plan. In the future they will become once again a nation and God will turn His attention to them again (Jer. 32:39-42, Rom. 9,10,11, Heb. 8:7-13). We reject replacement theology.

We believe in the resurrections of the saved and the lost, the saved will be resurrected to life and the lost will be resurrected to damnation in a literal conscious fiery torment (1 Cor. 6:14, 15:52, Rev. 20:5, 11-15, Luke 16:19-31). We reject annihilationism, this false doctrine completely ignores God’s justice and holiness.

We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church and at the end of the tribulation Christ will come to judge the world and set up His millennial kingdom on earth (John 14:1-3, 1 Thess. 4:14-17, Isa. 11:1-9, Dan 2:31-35, Rev. 20:1-6).
